Sell Everything: Lime Street, Liverpool
Sell Everything (2015)
My favourite photograph from the series Reflections on Liverpool. This is a view of Lime Street, Liverpool, reflected in a bus stop side panel. At the time Lime Street was at the centre of a bitter battle between developers, supported by the City Council, and campaigners who wanted to rescue the historic buildings, including one of Liverpool’s oldest cinemas, which began life in 1912 as the “Picture House”, but is best remembered as “The Futurist”. The developers won, and many of the buildings that appear in this image have now gone.
