Haar in Lerwick Harbour

Haar is a kind of sea fret or mist that comes in from the sea at very low level. Because it is often not very deep, the light can be quite bright, as here, even though visibility is very limited. On this morning in the harbour at Lerwick, the haar was so heavy it concealed even island of Bressay, no more than a few hundred metres away across the sound. All you can see are the marker buoys.
